Create a course in offsite or the office. Your “mines” can be anything from sheets of paper to plastic cones. Scatter them around the region and then set up your participants. Blindfold one participant and instruct the non-blindfolded team member to guide their spouse through the minefield using words. To make this task more challenging, restrict what the guide can say to “right,” left,” forward,” or “backward.”

Your favorite leaders

Challenge your participants to do some deep thinking. Ask them to come up with three or just two of the leaders they admire most. These can be living individuals or past leaders and can be business people, politicians, military generals, activists, or anyone else. Now, ask your participants to write down the character traits that created their function model, an excellent leader. Set to groups and discuss them.

In the other person’s shoes

Ask all your participants to remember an instance of interpersonal conflict they experienced at a past job. Ask them to think of a conflict they experienced in school or life if they can’t think of a person. Now, invite your participants to place themselves in the shoes of another person and clarify the situation. Set to groups to discuss the episode and both parties’ views.

Plane crash

To lighten things up, split your participants into classes. Explain that they have crashed on an island and will need to look for refuge. The group can only take ten items from the “plane” (i.e., the workplace) together. Step back and allow the group. To make the experience more enjoyable (especially if you are offsite), deliver a box of equipment for your group to pick from. Set a timer for ten minutes. The group has to come to a consensus.

Time to listen

Produce a listing of workplace scenarios. You can look up business case studies. Pair off your participants. Participant A will introduce Participant B with the scenario and then invite them to think of a way to solve the problem. Participant A’s job is to listen to Participant B and help them work through the problem. Participant A should refrain from providing their remarks.

Accepting group feedback

A powerful leader understands the worth of feedback that is authentic. They recognize the need also to make changes depending on the experience of others and to listen from their staff. Divide your participants and assign a pioneer. Instruct the leaders to solicit comments and to review projects, applications, and current systems within the company.
