Ten years ago this week that I was for the 140conf organized by Jeff Pulver. Was it the 140conf, nicely of course back then the Twitter was restricted to 140 characters, much now, we have. This was the summit where Stephen Fry was crowned the King of all Twitter. This was also the week that Stephen Fry and a million followers handed on Twitter.
From what I recall I wouldn’t last long before we proceeded in social media and did attempt to stir things up a bit, largely putting across that Twitter was a passing craze. Just shows how much I know… I actually didn’t believe ten years ago that now I’d still be doing the TwitterI was pretty sure the Twitter will be defunct and long forgotten. In that same time period we’ve seen solutions such as haiku, Google Wave, Google Buzz, and Google+ all come and go.
So will be around in 2029, that understanding.
This tweet from the time made me smile
: intriguing that the scars on end panel can not help themselves or reacting
These were the days when you needed to RT now by typing the actual tweet along with RT, none of this retweet button we’ve got out.
Looking back over my tweets I find I was impressed with all the venue, however, believed it was a great conference with men and women that are great.
Weekly with no traveling gave me an opportunity to undertake some writing some study and a few development. I reflected on the Advance HE PVC Network what this could mean to Jisc and potential opportunities and challenges and I attended.
I spent a great deal of time working on the Technical Career Pathway developing evaluation criteria and pathways, in addition to developing examples of evaluation evidence.
Tweet reminded me there are lots of people out there who feel there is much more that ought to be taught in colleges.
Things that should be taught in school:
? What related to demanding emotions
? How to think about death & despair
? Quality sex & consent of
? Politics & power of
? CPR & first aid
? Unconscious bias basics
? Standard cooking & hygiene skills
? To decrease carbon footprint
A simpler question may be, what matters should NOT be taught in schools? It’s not that these items aren’t significant, they are, however, is the school the place to do this?
I was reminded of this list of things the media and others stated should be taught in colleges. The list was complied by Parents and Teachers for Excellence, which will be a group promoting higher standards of education in schools across England. There were two hundred plus proposals in 2018. It comprised 24 proposals about Finance, 68 proposals about wellness and 22 proposals about technology.
That they don’t consider why the school ought to be the context for addressing the identified issue, If folks propose. They believe there’s plenty of time at school which needs to be filled, though the present program is complete. What should we cease to fill the schedule with these 16, the teachings? Additionally do colleges have personnel or the required resources to make these things realistically occur.
A listing is for 2019.
About the way that it is not found this article interesting.
Possessing a desk to work at, good rates and high expectations from parents, in addition to being happy at school, are crucial factors in encouraging children to go to university, a study suggests.
And they say this suggests schemes to increase aspirations ought to be targeted at an individual as opposed to school level.
Therefore organized travel and hotels, which always take, I have a busy couple of weeks beforehand.
My best tweet this week was that one.
